When to visit Cala Gonone
According to statistics, the most rainy months are November and Dicember, whereas the driest months are June, July and August. During the rest of the year, there are only sporadic rainstorms.
The best period of time for visiting Cala Gonone is not only the summertime, which may be extended from May to October, but also spring and autumn. It is true that in these seasons the mild temperatures don’t permit bathing in the sea but you will find excursions easier to do because it is fresher than in summer.
Climate
Cala Gonone has got a maritime-mediterranean climate with long and warm summers, mild springs and autumns and winters with moderate temperatures.
As you may easily observe in detail in the chart below, the average temperature and the monthly average values are fairly high throughout the whole year.
The annual average temperature varies between 18°C and 20°C.
According to the seasons, the average temperatures vary between 11°C and 12°C in winter and between 16°C and 20°C in March, April and May. During the long summer months, we have got an average temperature of about 28°C.
The monthly average water temperature ranges from about 13°C (February) to 20°C/21°C (June, September) and to 23°C/24°C (July, August and September).
