Not far from, but of greater size than osala, is the bay of cala cartoe, which is enclosed on both sides by headlands. the landscape around the cove remains unspoilt by houses or other buildings. the cove is crossed by a stream to form a beautiful little pond.

the beach can be reached from dorgali (9 km) and cala gonone (10 km) proceeding along narrow , tarmac roads, both of them very scenic (later merging). only the last stretch is a dirt track. imposing oaks near the beach provide shadow and are the perfect spot for alfresco snacks and picnics.
